Stock supplies
Once the baby’s on the tables, you don’t want to leave her, so get supplies ready before you lay her down: baby wipes, clean diapers and any cream or ointment the parents have asked you to apply.
Keep supplies out of the way so the baby can’t kick them off. Also, place garbage can or diaper pail nearby to dispose of used diapers.
Never leave her
If you can, try to keep one hand on the baby so she doesn’t fall off the table – and never leave her side.
